Overview

The Verein für Kranke at the Etania House welcomes visitors from around the world to provide families in need access to the healing air and facilities, at a nominal cost.

This includes children and families suffering from various skin ailments, lung conditions, chronic illnesses, emotional turmoil, as well as other conditions.

In 2017, Chaim V’Shalvah has serviced 15,000 respite nights, proving the need for a centre of rehabilitation.

In short, a stay in Davos has been proven to not only be a good prevention for numerous diseases but also to bring healing and rejuvenation to many conditions as well.

Individuals with various skin ailments, lung conditions, allergies, chronic illnesses, and emotional turmoil have benefited from Etania’s facilities finding hope and healing in the nurturing environment of Davos.

In the past 140 years, in addition to the highly-equipped Davos Hospital, climatic spas & specialty clinics offering scientifically-proven treatments are available locally.

We have seen tremendous success with people being healed simply by being in the environment and altitude of Davos. Individuals, who have sought many methods of recovery, including conventional and alternative methods, have often found a miracle in the Etania House.

Despite the difficulty in managing this project, we are committed to the legacy of the Etania Association to be a Healing Resort for the sick amongst the Jewish Community.

Atopic dermatitis (eczema) is a condition that causes skin to become red and itchy.

Although more common in children, it can occur at any age. It is a chronic condition which will flare periodically and may be accompanied by asthma or hay fever.

Depending on the type of Psoriasis, various symptoms are present.

Most common, are patches of red skin, covered with loose, silver-coloured scales. Often, the lesions are itchy and painful, sometimes cracking and bleeding as well.

Psoriasis is also often associated with psoriatic arthritis, which causes painful swelling of the joints.

Infectious mononucleosis, (Mono), is frequently caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and refers to a group of symptom, including high fever, swollen lymph glands, excessive lethargy, and a sore throat.

While more common in teenagers and young adults, the virus can occur at any age. It is spread through saliva, but once infected, immunity is developed, preventing re-infection.

Lyme disease is transmitted through a bite from a specific type of tick.

In the early stages of Lyme disease, one may experience flu-like symptoms that can include a fever, swollen lymph nodes, headaches, fatigue, muscle aches and joint pain. One also may experience a large, expanding skin rash around the area of the tick bite.
